  • "I would give 10 stars if I could! We found Crystal, like many other couples, after an exhaustive search for a wedding photographer. We opted for an engagement photo session and knew right away we would click with Crystal. We had chosen an outdoor location that Crystal had never been to and immediately she began scanning around and had numerous suggestions on areas, where the sun should be for each area and poses for us. We are even “those people” who love their dog and want them in photos and she got the most amazing photos with him included. Our experience at our wedding was no different, she makes the photo times feel very relaxed but yet has plenty of ideas. I always leave her sessions smiling! The turnaround time for sneak peeks & portfolio is INCREDIBLE, I’m fairly certain she doesn’t sleep with how fast she edits and responds to emails. The images.... people... THE IMAGES. You wonder if you were at the same place as her or if she performed some sort of magic during your session! They’re breathtaking every single time. Now that we are expecting we asked Crystal back for maternity and newborn photos. She came to our home for maternity photos and despite weddings being her “typical” she arrived with photos of ideas of creative and unique poses for us (again, including our pup!).   • "Looking back, as I was picking our photographer I did not want just anyone. In fact I wanted someone that no one in our area would be familiar with. I had made the list of all lists, comparing and contrasting every last detail from Des Moines to Chicago to Bloomington. I will say picking a photographer was one of the hardest decisions during my wedding planning experience. After all, these were going to be our forever photos of what turned out to be the most perfect day. I finally narrowed it down.   • "I did a LOT of research and had contact with 50 or more photographers. Crystal was one I had contacted early on. Her work was the best I had seen by far but I wasn't sure we could fit her into the budget. So I continued looking and getting the run around from others - not getting emails back until two weeks later, already booked, family issues, etc. So I contacted her again and she replied within a half hour - that right there was my biggest selling point. I didn't want to have to stress about contacting my photographer and I could tell she was going to make working with her very easy! Our engagement pictures were awesome and just when I thought she couldn't impress me anymore, she did. I lost my dad about 3 years ago and had come to terms with the fact that I wouldn't get that experience of him walking me down the aisle. So I walked by myself. My mom had contacted her, without my knowledge, to see if she could edit in a picture of my dad walking me down the aisle.   • "I’ve had the pleasure of Crystal being our photographer 3 times now. Our 25th anniversary (lifestyle shoot), our son’s senior photos, and our 30th anniversary vow renewal. Each time she has blown me away. Not only by her incredible talent, but by how easy she is to work with and her amazing attention to detail. For example, our son is a type 1 diabetic and we were doing some senior shots with his insulin pump, etc. since it’s a big part of his life and something he’s not ashamed of. Crystal didn’t know much about T1D before the shoot, but not only listened to me and our son about what we wanted, but she did her own research, in her own time, to understand the disease better so she could capture it accurately.
