Sammi + Joel | Koru Berry Farm // Homestead, Iowa

I love weddings like this one.

I love small gatherings with lots of special details. Sammi is so creative and so many of the details of this wedding were either handcrafted by her or were designed by her. Every single guest was provided a personalized geode, she put together the centerpieces, had various little things around with sentimental value – such as the “monster head” that her family had hidden in various places since the 70’s! All these amazing details that truly individualized their wedding and I am a sucker for the unique.

They got married at one of my absolute favorite intimate venues – Koru Berry Farm in Homestead Iowa. This is only the second wedding I have photographed there but I won’t lie, I could do weddings there every weekend and still never get bored – Deda & Neil are seriously the most helpful venue owners and imo, that alone is a selling point – the property is truly the bonus.

And hello, let’s talk about the food for a second. I’ve photographed hundreds of weddings in my career and I can easily say that I have never been to a sit-down meal with food like that, wow. Amos Dean’s Catering was incredible.

They were also entertained by Felix and Fingers Dueling Pianos, another favorite!

Honestly, it did not feel like working. <3

Thank you so much for choosing me to be your wedding photographer!
